2011 Brings Fresh New Colors For Your Gardens!

As in past years, we continue to expand our collection each year with new plants that bring fresh colors and shapes to your gardens! Stop by and see plants that you just won't find in other nurseries. We are here to introduce you to something new and exciting for your outdoor spaces!
 
 

For shade gardeners, Rudolph's is the place to find the unusual varieties of plants such as brunneras, pulmonarias, wood iris, hostas and many more. You will also find a selection of sun perennials unlike any you have seen before.  We have plants you have never heard of, alongside of tried and true favorites.  And we only have plants that are hardy to zone 5 ensuring their winter hardiness in your garden.
 Below is just a sampling.

Some of the new varieties you will find at our nursery in 2011:

~Clematis x Piilu - showy lavender flowers, double early in the season, single after- a great new clematis!
~Echinacea Purpurea "Elton Knight" - multiple flowers on short stems- and they hold their color!
~Epimedium "Pink Champagne" - heavily speckled leaves and covered in drooping flowers- one of the best epimediums ever!
~Geranium "Blue Sunrise" - a new compact variety that has silver blue blooms from spring thru frost!
~Heuchera "Swirling Fantasy" - colorful foliage AND brilliant foliage... a rare find in Heucheras!
~Iris ensata "Lion King" - amazing petals of white with bright purple edges and a splash of brilliant yellow in the center!
~Paeonia lacti "Nippon Beauty" - a deep solid red Paeonia, absolutely stunning!
~Papaver orien "Little Dancing Girl" - a low clumping varietal with huge satiny flowers!
~Papaver orien "Ruffles Patty" - another short one- only this has ruffled pinkish-purple flowers with an almost black center!
~Sedum "Pinky" - grey-blue foliage and a carpet of light pink starry flowers- a great new plant
~Sedum "Winky" - first foliage on this one is cream and pink!
~Sedum "Picolette" - compact cultivar with bronze-red foliage and small pink flowers late in the summer

Echinacea purpurea 'Coconut Lime'

The first double white coneflower! Compact, with over 20 blooms per plant, this cream beauty is a stunner!

Echinacea 'Tiki Torch'

A large, bright pumpkin colored coneflower! Wow! With upright, well-branched stems this brand new Echinacea is a definite must have!

Gaillardia 'Dakota Reveille'

Tight lime-green center buds have red tips until they explode with yellow trumpet-shaped flowers! Awesome cut flowers!

Caltha palustris

The 'March Marigold', this early bloomer offers bright yellow flowers and is perfect in more moist areas, such as by a pond.

Echinacea purpurea 'Pink Double Delight'

Twice the flowers & half the height of 'Razzmatazz'; a beautiful double pink; blooms for 2-3 months on sturdy stems!

Helleborus x nigercors 'Honeyhill Joy'

This early bloomer has an extended bloom time of 2 months producing large, outfacing, cream-centered white flowers over shiny blue tinged foliage! Nice!

Hakonechloa macra 'Stripe It Rich'

A vigorous grower in partial to full sun, this Japanese Forest Grass also creates a new spin on shade tolerance. These white striped, golden leaves are spectacular in a woodland garden!

Pulmonaria 'High Contrast'

One of the most reliable Pulmonarias, this one also has brilliantly contrasting foliage with large pink flowers that fade to blue. The wavy, spear-shaped foliage is dark green with silver and resists mildew.

Heuchera 'Caramel'

A vigorous, clump-forming coral bells cultivar, this heuchera features unique apricot foliage and light pink flowers.

Heuchera 'Midnight Rose'

Bold, black and beautiful this awesome Heuchera has hot pink splashes all over its leaves that fade to cream as the season progresses.

Heuchera 'Rave On'

One of the heaviest spring bloomers with huge masses of dark pink flowers above tall silvered foliage. A real trailblazer of Heucheras!

Yucca rostrata 'Sapphire Skies'

Gorgeous powder-blue spikes keep their color year round! Over the years it will form a sturdy "trunk" of about 4".

Ensete 'Tandarra Red'

This ornamental banana is bold with huge reddish-purple tones superimposed over deep green on its fronds.

Sedum 'Mr. Goodbud'

Awesome contrast between the light buds and the dark mauve flowers, this dusky new S. Spectabile hybrid has won an AGM award! It has an upright habit and short stature.

Tricyrtis 'Imperial Banner'

Cream and dark green variegated leaves are only the beginning with this elegant Tricyrtis. Orchid-like flowers bloom August thru September atop a compact plant.

Pulmonaria 'Cotton Cool'

This long-blooming English introduction has attractive upright leaves that are fully silvered. This variety is mildew resistant and flowers in April.
